Greetings from the President of JSAAM

Greetings from the President of JSAAM

The U.S.-China trade friction, which has become apparent after the inception of the Trump administration, is affecting corporate management in Asian countries including Japan. In addition, with the increase in the number of foreign workers in Japan, the relations between the people of Asia and Japanese companies have become increasingly wider and deeper. These are great opportunities for JSAAM to demonstrate our strengths and capabilities.
During such a turbulent period, I was appointed as the president of JSAAM at the general assembly held at Doshisha University in 2018. The honor is more than I deserve, but I will do my best to carry out my responsibilities. I would greatly appreciate the guidance and support of all JSAAM members as well as the readers of this website.
The indicators of the academic standards of JSAAM are the presentations given at our annual conferences and papers published in our Journal of Asian Management Studies. I will delegate such fulfillment and improvement to the executive directors, directors, councilors, and other members who are much more qualified than me, and I will be in charge of the “JSAAM vitalization committee.” Efforts to vitalize our association have been actively undertaken by my predecessor, Prof. KOSAKA Hidetaka, who has increased membership by creating the column section on our website, initiating our online journal, and establishing the JSAAM award, among others. The continuation and advancement of these efforts will be the main responsibility during my three-year term.
As I already mentioned at the general assembly, my goal until the end of my term in 2020 is for every member to say, “I’m glad I’ve joined JSAAM.” This will be my basic policy in my attempts to augment the satisfaction of our members as well as recruit new members. I would like to have your cooperation toward achieving this goal and realizing our new challenges.
